Beth Berasti Portfolio

A professional journey through school library media practice, showcasing research, literacy programs, digital curation, and collaborative teaching experiences that empower learners.

Educational Philosophy Statement

My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a love of lifelong learning in every student who enters my library. I strive to create a welcoming space where all students feel encouraged to ask questions, seek help, and develop essential skills for inquiry, inclusion, collaboration, curation, exploration, and engagement. My goal is not only to equip students with information and research skills but also to nurture a growth mindset that empowers them to take risks and embrace challenges in their learning journey.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that learning is a lifelong journey filled with opportunities for growth and discovery. Recognizing that each student’s path is unique, I focus on providing encouragement, motivation, and empowerment tailored to their individual needs. My experience in elementary special education has given me a deep understanding of diverse learning styles and equipped me with strategies for differentiation. By applying these insights, I ensure that every student experiences a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment in my library where they can thrive, feel celebrated, and achieve their full potential.
